63This hub presents some basic information about Pakistani film history. This hub is the first of a series of hubs that will give readers a brief account of Pakistani movies in chronological orders starting from 1947-48 to date.
PAKISTANI FILM INDUSTRY IN 1950
- Anokhi Dastan: was released in 1950. Its director was Sharif Nayyar and Nazir and Nazar were the main actors. It was a drama. The film was in Urdu
- Amanat: was directed by Hyder Shah. Famous artist Darpan and comedian Nazar were in cast. Amanat was a drama. The movie was in Urdu and it was the Darpan's debut film.
- Beli: was a movie directed by Masood Pervez. M. Ismail, Santosh, Sabiha, Shahina were in the movie cast. It was an Urdu drama and significance is that it was the debut film for Sabiha and Santosh.
- Beqarar: was directed by
Nazir Ajmeri and produced by S. Gul. Music was given by Master Ghulam Hyder. Ragni, S. Gul, Shammi, Noor Mohammad
Charlie and Majeed were in the cast. Beqarar was a drama movie in Urdu. The
film was released on July 17, 1950. Famous song "O Pardesia, bhool na jana" was sung by Munawar Sultana.
- Do Ansoo: It was the first ever Pakistani hit film that enjoyed a Silver Jubilee. Directed by Anwar Kamaal, the cast was composed of Sabiha, Santosh, Shamim, Ajmal and Allauddin. This was a drama movie in Urdu. "Do Aansoo" was released on April 7, 1950. The film story was a remake of a famous Noor Jehan film "Bhai Jan" (1945)
